Recognition of Prior Learning

RPL is the acknowledgment of skills and knowledge obtained through learning achieved outside the formal education and training system and includes work and life experience such as paid and volunteer work and skills attained through leisure pursuits using musical, mechanical or linguistic abilities.

RPL recognises any prior knowledge and experience and measures it against the qualification in which students are enrolled. The individual may not need to complete all units of a training program if he or she already possesses some of the competencies taught in the program.

AIME offers RPL for both its qualifications.

Our RPL Handbook can be accessed here.

Please contact our staff if you require further information on our RPL processes.

Credit Transfer

AIME provides credit for any units of competence completed at other registered training organisations where validated competency information can be provided by the student. For more information please contact our staff.

Additional Student Support

For students requiring additional support AIME will provide references to professional services that may be able to assist.

Please notify us if you believe you may need additional assistance and we will take all reasonable steps to assist or provide reasonable alternatives to ensure your success.
